UVY Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data UVY collects, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. What we collect

• Account info: email, username, display name, profile photo.
• Content you post: photos, videos, audio, text, comments, reposts, reactions.
• Social graph: who you follow, friend, block, or mute.
• Device permissions you grant: camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, and location — only when you use the feature that needs them.
• Search terms: what you type into in-app search, to return results and improve them.
• Usage analytics: aggregated counts (e.g. posts viewed, time spent in app) via AWS Pinpoint. No third-party advertising trackers.
• Crash reports: via Sentry, to fix bugs.

2. What we do NOT collect

• We do not sell your data to advertisers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not use Apple's IDFA.

3. Where your data lives

Your data is stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in the United States, with encryption in transit and at rest. Only you and people you explicitly share content with (or the public, if you choose) can see what you post.

4. Third-party services we use

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, storage, authentication, and analytics (Pinpoint). Your data is processed under AWS's data protection terms.
• Sentry — crash and error reporting. Reports contain device model, OS version, and the state of the app when it crashed; we do not send your content or messages to Sentry.
• GIPHY — when you search for a GIF, your search term is sent to GIPHY to return results. We don't send GIPHY your identity.

We do not share your data with any other third parties except as required by law.

5. How long we keep data

Your account data and content are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account record is permanently removed. Backup copies and server logs are purged on a rolling basis within 90 days.

6. Your rights

• Access: request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@uvy.app.
• Deletion: open Settings → "Delete account" inside the app. This permanently removes your account. You can also email privacy@uvy.app to request manual deletion.
• Correction: edit your profile or content directly in the app.
• Withdrawal of consent: revoke any device permission (camera, contacts, etc.) in your iOS or Android system settings.

7. Children

UVY is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

8. Changes

If we change this policy materially, we'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
